Tronc administrator – employer services department
Due to a significant growth in clients, an opportunity has arisen for a Tronc Administrator at WMT – Chartered Accountants within our employer services team. WMT is the leading provider of tronc solutions to the hospitality industry; clients include Michelin starred restaurants, celebrity chefs, High Street groups, and 5-star hotels.
As a part of the Tronc Administration team you will play a key role in calculating the amount of tips, service charge and other gratuities to be received by staff working in some of the UK’s most prestigious and well-known restaurants.
The role predominantly involves computer based working and accurately handling, processing and working with data provided to ensure that our clients’ employees receive the correct awards on time, every time. After training you will be able to manage budgets, deal with requests and communications from businesses, and build up a sound working relationship with a portfolio of clients.
The role makes extensive use of IT systems, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. We are a paperless office and have an IT based virtual filing system. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the filing of client’s documents are indexed and organised correctly.
- Reviewing and analysing data submitted by clients
- Using Microsoft Excel to carry out allocations of tips and service charges to employees (“tronc”)
- Understanding and applying the different systems and criteria in place for individual clients
- Manage communications with clients via email and telephone
- Filing electronically to our paperless document management system
- Updating databases and records to reflect client requests
- Working closely with payroll providers and supporting other team members as required
What is a Tronc solution?
A tronc solution allows the proceeds of service charge and credit card tips to be distributed to staff working in the hospitality industry. Experience of tronc solutions is not essential as training will be provided.
Skills and abilities
To succeed in the role it is necessary to have a good work ethic, understand the importance of getting things “right first time” and be highly customer focused. You will need to be able to work to tight deadlines and have a good eye for detail.
The successful candidate will have a natural aptitude for numbers and an eye for detail. You will be required to sit an on line numerical and a verbal/logic test, before the interview stage.
You will be comfortable in working with Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Word, but particularly Excel where knowledge and understanding of lookup formulas and pivot tables would be a definite advantage.
You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and competing priorities. The team are friendly and supportive but the ability, after training, to soon manage your own workload to ensure deadlines are met is critical
