Charity seminar: Charity accounts for non-accountants
Charity accounts can be complicated, even for smaller charities.
To help charity trustees and staff understand the basics, WMT’s Elizabeth Irvine will run a practical and insightful session on charity accounts for non-accountants. The event will help trustees and non-finance managers gain an understanding of what to look for in charity accounts and the questions to ask when reviewing them.
During the event Elizabeth will cover:
- The types of accounts charities can prepare.
- Definitions of key financial terms.
- The purpose and content of important financial documents – annual trustees report, the statement of financial activities and balance sheet.
- The types of reserves that a charity can hold.
The seminar is free to attend aimed at trustees and charity staff with little or no accounts knowledge, or those who require a refresher of the basics.
