Our audit process

Statutory audit

Statutory audit services at WMT go beyond compliance requirements to offer you valuable insight into your business’s processes and determine where improvements and efficiencies can be made to drive your business to transparent and sustainable growth.

Do you need an audit?

Larger businesses

To require a statutory audit, a company must meet two of the following requirements:

  • turnover over £10.2m
  • assets worth more than £5.1m
  • over 50 employees.

Specialist sectors

Solicitors – if you hold clients’ money on account, an accountants report is required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Surveyors – an audit may help demonstrate good processes are in place when the time comes for a regulatory visit by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Residential landlords – an accountants report is required in order to retain membership of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) or the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA).

Charities – if a charity has an income of over £1,000,000, an audit is required.

Pensions – we provide advice and audit services to Trustees that manage various types of occupational pension schemes.

We also provide audit services to businesses with overseas interests or ambitions or those who have a non-UK parent company.
