Spring statement 2019 – how does it affect you?
15/03/2019
A low-key statement amidst Brexit uncertainty
Under normal circumstances the Chancellor’s annual spring statement would have dominated headlines. But amidst the Brexit votes of the day and being so close to the date Britain is due to leave the EU, the 2019 announcement was somewhat light on content.
Despite few tax changes, the Chancellor used the announcement to highlight positive news on the state of public finances but stressed that building a stronger economy would only be possible by avoiding a no-deal Brexit.
We are sure once the uncertainty lifted, there will be more announcements to come, and there are a lot of consultations in the pipeline, so we will continue to keep you updated.
