Update on People with Significant Control (PSC) Register and Companies House Regulations
18/08/2017
Over the last year we have filed the new confirmation statement (CS01) on behalf of our clients, and used the form to notify Companies House of any companies or people with significant control over the company or LLP. Now, new regulations are in force meaning changes must be notified as they happen throughout the year.
Until recently, a company or LLP was only required to update its PSC information on the public register annually, as part of its confirmation statement. Now, the PSC register filings are event driven and new forms must be used to tell Companies House whenever there is a change.
The new regulations allow companies 14 days to update their PSC register and another 14 days to notify Companies House of any change. Consequently, if we maintain your PSC register and update your records with Companies House, it is important that you let us know as soon as possible of any changes to the personal details of a PSC.
Changes that you need to advise us of immediately include those to a PSC’s:
- name
- residential and/or service address
- date of birth
- nationality
- date that they became or ceased to be a PSC
- shareholding percentage conditions.
Any changes or updates to the PSC register that become necessary as part of other work we carry out on your behalf ,will be notified to Companies House on the relevant forms.
