Employment Tax Director
Advising employers on all aspects of employment taxation, equity reward and tax residency issues keeps Rob busy and his workload varied.
A typical week for Rob might involve carrying out an employment taxes healthcheck to make sure a business is prepared for an HMRC audit or possibly a sale, and setting up an employee share scheme, often involving EMI share options. Responding to queries on employment status and IR35, assisting with questions on compensation payments and employee expenses and benefits are also regular features.
Rob also works with organisations faced with an ongoing HMRC employer compliance review, responding to all the inspector’s questions and requests.
Joining WMT following roles with Big 4, mid-tier and boutique accounting firms, Rob is experienced in advising organisations of every size and type on the full spectrum of employment taxes matters.
Rob began his career as an Inland Revenue auditor, and retains a genuine enthusiasm for his area of specialism some twenty years later. His interests cover everything from making sure employers are fully tax compliant to the employment taxes impact of major strategic changes – such as business restructuring, mergers and acquisitions.
Out of hours Rob likes to spend time with family and friends and enjoys mountain biking and photography.
