Finance Club: When should you sell your business?
You’ve invested time and energy to build a business, and now you’re thinking about selling. Maybe not right now, but sometime in the next five years or so, you think you’ll be ready to move onto new things or retire.
No doubt you’ll be looking for a fair return on your investment, but what else are you looking for from the sale and what’s the best way to get it?
A well-planned exit strategy will answer those questions and many more. It will help you decide when to sell the business and who to – your management team, your employees or an outside party. It will also help you understand how to make the business attractive to buyers, as well as the tax and financial implications of your choices.
The next Finance Club will take place on Thursday 15th June 2017, as part of the St Albans Business Festival week. WMT’s Andrew Williamson and Clydesdale Bank’s David Clarke will lead the session, outlining what you need to think about before the sale and how to manage a sale process whilst still running your business.
Questions and contributions from attendees are encouraged during the event to help you make the most out of the time.
